SITG Day 4: Ok. The music

SITG Day 4: Ok. The music

Starting the morning at the GW McLennan stage with Melbourne’s Gold Class. Adam Curly is teen idol poster material and the band boats tight, intelligent, crafted rock sound. Followed by Aussie’s Tired Lion, a five piece with lead female vocals, enough to make one Amphlett smile down from the heavens.

At the amphitheatre Melbourne Ska Orchestra schooled those in attendance on the lessons of reggae through the ages. Just could not make the connection with Urthboy or The Internet. But was blessed instead by a Tibetan monk in the global village. Like, I mean legit Tibetan chanting at my aura.

Electro cuteness and at other times acoustic set from Canadian’s Tegan and Sara, encouraged the crowd to bust out their best George Michael moves. Courtney Barnett can play.

Stumbled on to the end of Will Anderson’s bit at the Forum. I was laughing out loud at his hilarious stories of the animal kingdom, Bill Shorten, setting Melbourne airport on fire and debasing Andrew Bolt’s suit. What a champ. As a result, missed a bunch of other stuff like Golden Features.

Dishy James Blake bought his near perfect studio sound, bass and pastel lighting. Then Ended the festival with Sigur Ros Icelandic rock visionaries, who delivered stunning infused metal, soundscape and beautiful lights and projection.

Falling soundly asleep while Flume fished his set.

Thank you Splendour In The Grass.
