Arts & Communication
MJ’s background in the performing arts commenced in the late 1980’s, when he began working as a professional actor. Like most creative professionals in Australia, he has held a number of different day jobs. Currently Wilson is an NDIS coordinator for a not-for-profit disability service in the Northern-metro area of Melbourne.
MJ’s passion is to develop performance art and new creative projects.
Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (2015) in Internet Communication from Curtin University, a Graduate Diploma of Communication (2016) from RMIT, and Master degree in Arts Management & Cultural Management (2020) from The University of Melbourne. As part of this degree, he completed a minor thesis project, he outlines the research intention:
My research explores the parameters between able-bodied arts workers engagement with artists and arts workers with disability in Australia. The project seeks to better understand the unwritten rules for able-bodied people engaging with artists and arts workers with disability.
